Take heart in the knowledge that Boston IVF has helped thousands of families grow over the years and developed many of the standards in fertility care that are used around the country today.
Here’s what you can expect when you take the first step with us.
A Detailed Fertility Assessment
When you initiate treatment at Boston IVF, diagnostic testing and health history from both partners gives us insight into several dimensions of your fertility as a couple. This gives your care team an accurate baseline of your unique circumstances.
A Personalized Treatment Plan
Based on what we learn in your fertility assessment, your care team will put together a treatment approach just for you. Your next steps might include more testing or surgery before jumping into conception assistance, or you could begin a treatment like ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), or in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Second Opinions
If you've previously undergone fertility treatment elsewhere, Boston IVF ensures a smooth and streamlined transition to our clinic, making your second opinion experience seamless. Our team specializes in difficult and rare infertility cases, and many couples who have had unsuccessful treatment elsewhere go on to get pregnant at Boston IVF.
There’s more to treatment than IVF
Though in vitro fertilization (IVF) is often thought of as the primary treatment for infertile couples, it’s not the only option. Conception assistance is any treatment that can help you or your partner get pregnant, each with its own timeline and level of medical involvement.
Typically a treatment plan progresses from the easiest treatments to those that are more involved, but not all treatments are right for all couples. Your Boston IVF reproductive endocrinologist will help decide what’s best for your circumstances.
Some people don’t ovulate predictably or at all – their body doesn’t release a mature egg from the ovary at regular intervals. Without an egg to fertilize, you can’t get pregnant. We can use medications to promote ovulation and improve your chances of conceiving through sex.
Learn moreIn IUI, we place a flexible catheter through the cervix and introduce sperm directly into the uterus around the time of ovulation, which may be facilitated by medications and/or monitoring. If egg and sperm meet up, you could become pregnant.
Learn moreIn vitro fertilization involves stimulating the ovaries with medication to develop mature eggs. Eggs are retrieved under anesthesia and fertilized in the lab with the partner’s sperm. An embryo is then transferred to the uterus. In some instances, there may be additional embryos to freeze.
Learn moreSometimes, one partner of a couple can’t contribute eggs or sperm for one reason or another. Parenthood is still possible for these couples through donor eggs, sperm, or embryos, which all offer an abundance of choices.
Learn moreOnce a person undergoes IVF, it’s up to the lab to give any embryos the best possible conditions to grow in. Boston IVF utilizes the most cutting-edge technology to maximize embryo development and help your clinical team select the best embryo for transfer.
