Initial Consultation
It all starts with a meeting with a Boston IVF reproductive endocrinologist who is an expert in assisted reproductive technologies for single people to build their families. They will answer any and all questions you have about the process.

Semen Analysis and Screening
You’ll undergo a semen analysis to ensure your sperm is healthy. You may also have additional blood tests or screening done such as infectious disease testing, genetic carrier screening, and anything else your reproductive endocrinologist recommends to increase the probability that you have a child.

Donor Selection
At Boston IVF, we collaborate with highly qualified agencies to ensure you have access to the best resources when selecting an egg donor and gestational carrier. You will choose an egg donor and gestational carrier, who will contribute the egg and uterus to the process, respectively. Throughout every step, we work closely with you, ensuring you feel fully informed and confident in your decisions, so you can move forward with peace of mind.

Fertility services for single men

In the realm of treatment with assisted reproductive technologies, building your family as a single man isn’t all that different from any other individual or couple. Become familiar with some of the key services that you’ll likely be using.

IVF

At Boston IVF, single fathers by choice conceive using IVF. We combine your sperm sample with mature eggs from a donor in the lab. Over the course of several days, some of the fertilized eggs will grow into embryos viable for transfer to a gestational carrier’s (surrogate) uterus in hopes of achieving a pregnancy.

Egg Donor

Men pursuing solo fatherhood need eggs to have a baby. Options for finding a suitable egg donor include choosing someone you know or selecting from a frozen egg bank. You can also opt for a non-identified donor through an egg donor agency, providing fresh eggs that are fertilized and then frozen as embryos.

Gestational Carrier

A gestational carrier provides the uterus to carry your baby. Sometimes, a friend or family member may volunteer (a known gestational carrier), or you can work with a surrogacy agency to select someone for this crucial role. Both options offer a path to finding the right gestational carrier for your journey to parenthood.
