Dr. Lauren Murphy is a board-certified Reproductive Endocrinologist at Boston IVF. She specializes in all aspects of fertility and family building care.
Dr. Murphy is a native of Connecticut and remained near home for college and medical school. She graduated with honors in Anthropology from Trinity College and completed the Post-Baccalaureate Premedical Program at the University of Connecticut before receiving her medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. While in medical school, she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and was a recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine award.
From there, she made her way to New York City to attended OB/GYN residency at Weill-Cornell/New York Presbyterian Hospital. She then moved to Boston for her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Since her fellowship, she has remained at Boston IVF as a full time physician and partner.
In her free time, Dr. Murphy can be found frequenting the hockey rinks of Massachusetts with any of her 3 boys who love to play the game. When not in the rink, she finds her calm in nature and tries to enjoy the outdoors whenever possible, particularly with her husband and kids.
Dr. Murphy is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the New England Fertility Society, and Pacific Coast Reproductive Society, among others.

The ability to build a family is one of the great joys one can experience in life. Being a fertility specialist allows me to help patients realize this dream, and I can’t imagine a better way to spend my day!

What is Your Approach to Patient Care?
I approach each patient with an open mind and an open heart. The journey to success is complicated, and emotional. I work together with my patients and our team to talk through the challenges and come up with new plans, whether they be alternative treatment plans specifically, or options for additional emotional support. I also never hesitate to collaborate with my wonderfully experienced colleagues at Boston IVF to get the best collective approach drawing, upon decades of experience.

How Do You Spend Your Free Time?
Spending time outdoors is what I love best. Whether it’s hanging out in the backyard, finding local hikes, or heading to the beach, exploring nature together is how I feel refreshed at the end of a week.
