We had an ectopic pregnancy in August 2016 and after that we struggled to get pregnant for months. We started our IVF journey in September 2017. We had two failed IUI's and then started the process of IVF. We had a successful egg retrieval — produced over 30 eggs. We were so lucky that so many were produced and many were viable. Due to producing so many eggs my body went into hyper stimulation and our journey was put on hold. I had to have two liters of fluid drained from my body. So needless to say this was devastating for us. We waited until my next cycle and starting the injections for IVF in January 2018. We then had our IVF scheduled for February and lucky we had success and became pregnant!!!
How did your boston ivf physician and nursing team help to make your journey a success?
They were so helpful!! We loved Dr. Penzias very much—- so knowledgeable and kind!
Did anyone/anything else help you through your infertility journey?
I loved the acupuncturists at the Domar Center. They were such a huge part of our journey!!!
What were some highs or lows of your treatment(s)? What is unique/different about your story?
The lowest point was when I went into hyper stimulation and our journey was put on hold for another month!
The high was that we had some many viable eggs that turned into embryos!
What advice do you have for other struggling with infertility?
Make sure you take care of each other. Find time for self-care and date nights. Communication is key!
