We were blessed with twin boys - now 4.5 years old! Even 4 years later, I still find myself in disbelief that I am lucky enough to have these wonderful children.
How did your boston ivf physician and nursing team help to make your journey a success?
They were amazing - we would not be where we are today with out them.
Dr. Berger and Dawn always had time for questions or to talk when they had bad news to share.
The OR/PACU nurses in Waltham were incredible. They made a difficult time much easier to manage.
Did anyone/anything else help you through your infertility journey?
We took advantage of the Domar Center at their Waltham location and strongly believe fertility acupuncture was a key complement to the traditional treatments.
What were some highs or lows of your treatment(s)? What is unique/different about your story?
An extreme "low" was during our first IVF cycle, when only 4 eggs were retrieved. We had 1 embryo and received the call on the way to the transfer that it was not viable.
It was a tough moment. But we got a few more eggs the next cycle and 1 embryo - and finally on our third try we got embryos, which were transferred.
We now have twin boys!
What advice do you have for other struggling with infertility?
Have faith in the team at Boston IVF and be patient with the process (even it if sounds impossible).
It is such a lonely time - and is both physically and emotionally draining. Remember it's one moment in time that will pass - and you will treasure your children in ways you can never imagine.
Even 4 years later, I still find myself in disbelief that I am lucky enough to have these wonderful children. Truly a dream come true.
