Dr. C. Brent Barrett, HCLD, is the Chief Laboratory Director for Boston IVF and oversees Boston IVF labs in Massachusetts, Maine, New York, Indiana and Arizona.
He completed M.S. and Ph.D. degrees at Boston College where his research focused on mammalian reproductive biology. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and Howard Hughes Medical Institute for 3 ½ years, he received a grant from the National Institutes of Health for research on the molecular regulation of egg development.
In 1992, he came to Boston IVF and has been a technical supervisor in the Andrology, Embryology and Endocrine labs, the ISO 9001 Quality Manager, the Waltham Lab Director and, in 2016, was promoted to the position of Chief Laboratory Director.
Dr. Barrett is currently a Clinical Instructor at Harvard Medical School, has authored numerous papers and abstracts in peer-reviewed journals and spoken at many national and international conferences and consults as an expert in Laboratory Quality and Embryology.
